    Alfonso

Solo by name, solo by nature 💜 This gorgeous guy hates the other cats in the house and has started staying out more and more. "He’s a very loving, friendly and playful cat that can’t wait to get outdoors. He loves a cuddle and a pet but after two strokes he might try to nip at your hand until he decides you may stroke him again slave! Solo needs to be in a house with no other pets, easy access to the great outdoors away from busy roads. He has woods behind his current home and he loves to be off exploring. He can get easily overwhelmed in the first few weeks as he settles in and will want to hide under the bed for a while but he'll be out soon enough." Best with older, cat-savvy children only as he will tell you when he's had enough of a fuss. 11 years, neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance. Oscar

Handsome dude looking for new digs 💜 Oscar is another stray tom,  un-neutered and un-chipped, no owner to be found and luckily FIV/FeLV negative. Brought in to foster right in the middle of all the cold, snowy weather, he spent the first few days with us recovering from various scratches and minor wounds (we assume from fighting!), mostly curled up sleeping on the windowsill above the radiator, appreciating being in the warm and dry. Although initially wary of lots of things (for example any doors in the house opening and closing, people going up and down the stairs, loud traffic outside) he has settled well into home comforts, and his personality has really started to shine through. He’s a big (5.5 kg!) cheeky boy who loves playing football (especially with foil balls), chasing string and pouncing on anything that moves under the duvet covers! He will wind himself around your legs for attention, will flop down pretty much right next to wherever you are (including on the floor right under your feet!), and will curl up on your lap if you’re sitting on the sofa. He generally enjoys being brushed and stroked, and will purr for chin rubs. He will roll on his back showing you his gorgeous floofy tummy, but beware…touch the belly at your own risk! He’s liable to attack your hand, hold on and bunny kick, but he doesn’t hurt. He can also do this if he gets over excited playing and your hands are too close, and sometimes gets over stimulated when being stroked or brushed, and will bat at you or give your hand a nip to let you know. Because of this, he will need a home with older, cat-experienced children who will know when to stop. But generally he’s very tolerant, happy to be picked up and worn as a scarf, or tipped upside down and cradled in your arms, as long as you are giving him some head rubs! Oscar will eat food whenever he can get it, and will meow at you to convince you he is starving multiple times a day (even if he’s only eaten an hour ago!). For that reason, any cat-friendly food will need to be kept out of reach – he’s learnt that knocking down the tub of dry food we (used to) keep on kitchen counter is a sneaky way of helping himself to more food! Oscar is wary of new people, and still runs to hide when someone goes in/comes out of the front or back doors .Therefore, he is likely to take time to settle into his new home, but once he’s learnt that his new humans are also a source of strokes, head rubs, food and treats he will become a very affectionate, playful cat. He needs to be the only pet with a garden away from busy roads. Oscar is estimated to be about three years old, and is neutered, chipped, vaccinated, plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • Djanjo

    ,
Meet Djanjo 💜 He's a gentle giant that will be your friend for life. He is a loving cat who purrs profusely whenever he is getting your attention and has an extremely gentle nature. He spends much of his day either eating, lying in the sun looking out of the window or grooming his gorgeous fluffy coat. He quickly settled in his foster home and loves his routine and his food. Although not quite a lap cat he likes to sit with his foster family in the evening and greets them with a mioaw during the day, occasionally sleeping on the bed at night. He likes being fussed and groomed and needs a quick daily maintenance brush to prevent matts. This is a good chance to give him a belly rub, which he loves. He was previously from a multi cat household where he wasn't happy and he suffered from stress cystitis. Django now needs a quiet adult-only, household with no other pets and a garden away from busy roads. He needs to be on a urinary diet with Cystophan added to his food daily to protect his bladder lining - he's been fine since he arrived with us and hopefully will remain that way. BWCR are happy to cover the cost of the Cystophan and any flare ups at one of our vets. Django is a smashing cat who has a lot of love to give. 6yrs old, neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue? • Talullah

    ,
Lula is one of our little Romanian moggies - hopping aboard for a 45 hour road trip in search of her happy ending. She's come from a very rural area so definitely needs somewhere safe,  away from busy roads.
"Tallulah is doing brilliantly well. She was very scared and nervous at first and didn't come out from behind the sofa for a week and a half. But she obviously grew trust in us and although still skittish to any noises or sudden movements has become very loving and sweet too. Lula isn't totally sure of my partner yet, but is getting better with him slowly and has got into bed with him a couple of mornings last week for a little stroke which was a great step!" Lula needs a quiet, adult-only home with time to settle in - she is fine with other nice cats who won't bully her. About 3 yrs old, neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance. If you're interested please mail us at [email protected].
  • Mac

Mac came into foster care in January after having been picked up as a stray. Yet another un-neutered, unchipped tom, he had clearly spent some time on the street, with a number of scars and broken teeth. However, Mac is a naturally soft and friendly fellow, never aggressive, and after a few weeks of recovery has transformed into a happy, healthy cat ready for adoption. Mac is a simple man: his ideal day consists of eating, sleeping, and receiving attention. He likes to be stroked and to share a sofa in the evening, but is not a lap cat; he will however happily curl up with you at night and likes a lazy weekend morning being pampered in bed. Mac shows only intermittent interest in playing with his foster carers, sometimes chasing a ribbon, but often has more fun being left to play alone with his toys at his leisure. He has settled comfortably into a regular feeding pattern and will remind you if you're late with his dinner - he can be very talkative! When overstimulated (or sometimes just hungry) Mac has occasionally nipped his foster carers, and as such is not appropriate for a house with young children. However, with very few sharp teeth remaining after dental work, this usually feels more like a gummy kiss - we sometimes even think he might just be being affectionate. He'd loved a garden away from busy roads and no other pets. About 8 yrs old, neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • Patch

    ,
Patch is looking for a very special home. She was originally taken in as a stray by an elderly lady and lived happily with her, although was never terribly fond of other people. Her owner has now sadly died. She has been in foster for 7 weeks, and has spent almost all of that time hiding up the chimney or under the sofa. In the past week or so she has become brave enough for her fosterers to pick her up and bring her out for a cuddle. She loves to be stroked and enjoys a good head rub, after half an hour or so she is back under the sofa. We are hoping she will continue to come out of her shell more and more over the next few months, but needs a very quiet home with owners who will put the time in to encourage her out of her shell and let her relax at her own pace. Patch has no teeth bless her so we're not sure how old she us but, we think, about 10. Neutered, chipped, had first vaccination plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • Moon Cake Mischief Maker

    ,
    Mooncake Mischief Maker 💜
Mooncake is very cute and full of personality. Incredibly curious and adventurous, she will investigate any noise in the house and may decide to ambush your ankles if you pass her latest hiding place (currently under my chair!). This is purely playful and not aggressive, but for this reason she wouldn't be suitable with young children or other pets - older children with experience of cats and their boundaries would be fine.
Although not what I'd call a "lap cat", Moonie likes to be in the same room as you and can be very affectionate once she's worn out from chasing feathers or tearing up a cardboard box! If you let her on the bed, she drools when she purrs and will knead your blankets until she finds the perfect place to settle.
She currently burns off energy chasing toys up and down the stairs, so it will be fantastic for her to have the chance to run around in a safe garden away from busy roads. We have had to work hard to get her completely litter trained, and she's still quite particular about certain surfaces to do her solid business, so it's important to ensure she has a choice of trays and an owner with some time to monitor her habits. Once she has the chance to dig in a garden I'm sure this issue will become a long forgotten issue.
Neutered,  chipped,  vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • Mowgli

Mowgli is a very handsome tom who was rescued by a kind member of the public as an un-neutered, unchipped stray. Despite extensive enquiries no owner has been found. She wanted to keep him but he bullied her two cats :( Mowgli is quite a solid chonk at 5.3 kg with the big tom cat head that comes with being neutered late. He's not much of a lap sitter but will happily sit next to you on the sofa getting up every so often for kneading sessions, if you fuss him on the floor he will knead on the spot! He's very vocal and will often answer you if you speak to him and likes to let you know he's behind you, he also chirrups every time you touch him or move. He's not keen on being picked up or having his feet touched and would appreciate a top opening carry box for vet trips. Now he's settled in, he's pretty chilled but he has had an episode of stress cystitis so needs a quieter, adult-only home with no other pets. If it recurs due to the stress of rehoming BWCR will cover the costs of treatment at one of our vets. Once he's settled in a calm environment he should be fine :) He's used to being out and about so needs a garden away from busy roads. About 5 yrs, neutered, chipped, had first vaccination plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • Tinks

    ,
Tink was found as a very poorly stray kitten and thanks to the love and care from his fostermum he's blossomed into a very handsome young man. He's small for his age probably due to all the worms he was carrying for so long and he does now have a sensitive tummy but is absolutely fine on Purina food. He'd obviously never know humans and is still a little timid and he would love another friendly cat to play with and show him the ropes. He tries to play with the resident cat but he's not interested in the little whippersnapper. He loves his food and will let you know when it's breakfast, lunch and tea time by following you around like a shadow until you give in. He is not a lap cat (yet!) but happy to sit with you being stroked, happy to be picked up and lie in your arm or over your shoulder but hates being touched on his head for some reason. He'd love a garden away from busy roads, is fine with the resident cat-friendly dog, needs a quieter home with no young children and has amazing hairy Hobbit paws! About 10 months, neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue? • Martha & Mildred & Matilda

Meet the M and Ms 💜 Martha & Mildred and Matilda This little family came from a farm and are used to having lots of room to run around, so will need a more rural location away from busy roads. Grumpy Grandma Mildred is approx 6 and likes to think she's the boss of you as she will hiss and make funny growling noises, but she's harmless and enjoys a chin rub. Her daughter Matilda approx 5 was a bit shy at first but now she's the first out to be fussed and loves a cuddle. Granddaughter Martha has always been a confident friendly cat and and also likes chin rubs. Although they have grown in confidence and will sit on your lap if you put them there and purr for a while, they are unlikely to be typical lap cats. They adore each other and for that reason we would like them to rehomed together. They couldn't cope with children unfortunately and are used to their home comforts now so we don't want them living outside again. Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus come with 5 weeks free insurance.
