  • New

Cassie is a lovely little cat. She came to us with her two kittens so was a little nervous and protective for the first couple of hours but soon got settled in. She has worked hard raising her gorgeous kittens who have been adopted and now she deserves to be a pampered puss in her own forever home. She is very friendly, she loves being rubbed behind her ears especially, and on her back. Not a lap cat just yet but she likes to snuggle up to you on the sofa or in bed on a lazy morning! She's quite curious, spends most of her day on the windowsill watching birds so she would need a home with a safe garden away from busy roads where she can explore outside. She's quite vocal, with her funny little miaow/chirrup. She does occasionally hiss if you startle her but it's always immediately followed up with an apologetic miaow if you give her a stroke. Although she's very friendly she is easily startled so would need a quieter home with no children or dogs, and she isn't keen on the neighbour's cat so probably needs to be the only cat in the household so she can be spoilt! About 2 years old, soon to be neutered, chipped and have her first vaccination. Comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • New

Our lovely Fern is 9 years old and was adopted a few years ago but sadly, her owners circumstances have changed and she's come back to us. She's a sweet girl, not quite a lap cat but does love a fuss, especially head strokes and tickles under her chin. She enjoys her food too! She's not a needy cat and would suit someone at work all day as she'll happily entertain herself with a potter in a safe garden or a snooze! She does have a flea allergy so needs a monthly vet- prescribed treatment plus she does get stressed by children and other animals and can overgroom so needs a nice, quiet adult-only home this time round. Neutered, chipped plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.

    Hazel and Meg

Fancy a bit of a project?! Hazel and Meg are sisters from two different litters and weren't handled much unfortunately so they're both pretty shy. They need to stay together and would benefit from another confident cat - they love to play and will happily share the bed with you but they are easily startled. They're not crazy about being picked up but love a stroke and they're the sort of cats who will bond very strongly with their human once they decide they like them! They wouldn't be any good with children and they'd like a garden away from busy roads though we doubt they'd go far - birds and rustling leaves are so scary!! Tortie Hazel is about 1 year old and Meg is little sister at around 8 months. Both are neutered, chipped, had first vaccination plus come with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • Munchies

Munchies is a sprightly one year old ginger and white two tone cat with a big floof of a tail. He is full of beans, keen on his food and still very much a kitten. He has been well loved and only needs a new home because he wasn’t happy with the arrival of a new baby.
Munchies has a beautiful, loving nature and is extremely curious - he will inspect every nook and cranny! He is sensitive and can be anxious or skittish if his environment becomes stressful, but generally he purrs non stop.
Munchies will happily play for hours then snuggle up close to you or in your lap. When I’m in the house alone he will follow me around from room to room, requesting attention with head bops when he wants it.
As a ball of curious energy but inexperienced outside, Munchies needs a safe garden away from roads to explore. He is okay with other cats, but not young children or
infants. He may be okay with older, cat savvy children who know not to scare him.
Munchies will make a lovely pet, is up to date with vaccinations and is neutered, chipped and comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • Digger

Well just look at who's ready for a  new super duper extra special home 💜 Digger!! After all his bad past experiences - shut in a tiny flat for 6 years and tormented and traumatised by screaming children, with no escape, he's decided to give humans a second chance. He has turned into the softest, soppiest boy who loves a fuss and snuggles under the duvet. He is still worried by new things and is hand shy around his head as he's obviously been hit but his transformation has been amazing. The only time you see his teeth now are when he takes your hand gently in his mouth and holds it there because he wants you near :) He needs a quieter home with no children of any age, no other pets, a day or two to settle in and a garden away from busy roads as he's never been outdoors but would like the chance to explore a little. He's been an absolute star and even loves his belly rubbed and his paws stroked - he is such a big baby now and deserves the very best home in the world! 6 yrs old, neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • Ace and Bella

A special home is needed for Ace as he has a heart condition, most likely hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. At the moment he's on anticoagulants and will require regular vet checks and possibly further meds in years to come. Sadly this condition will shorten his lifespan. BWCR are happy to fund his meds and check ups at Fernlea vets in Kingswood or Hanham to ensure he gets the best possible care. Ace is a gentle mini panther, he likes the occasional cuddle (on his terms) and enjoys being around you. He is a purr box and his eyes are stunning! He also love a good belly rub! He is very good friends with Bella and they need to stay together. Little is known about his background but Ace would love a quiet home with a garden to explore. Bella is a bundle of mischief; she loves to play (particularly if the game involves a ball or feather) and she will explore everything she can! Bella is best friends with Ace so they must stay together. Please read the information on Ace as he has a heart condition. Bella would benefit from a quiet home with outside space to explore. She isn’t a lap cat but she likes to be in the same room as you and she will come up to you when she wants a stroke! On occasion Bella can get a bit over excited and try to play with your fingers. She is learning that fingers are not toys but for this reason she would be better with older rather than younger children.
  • George

This very handsome senior kittizen (about 12) is George. George was rescued aged about 5 with a couple of health issues and unable to “cat” properly – he wasn’t used to strokes and fuss at all. His owner spent a lot of time and energy to bring him on and did a brilliant job but the arrival of a new baby left him very stressed and anxious so he came into foster with us. George is an affectionate boy but on his terms. If you go to fuss him when he is not in the mood he runs off. However, when he is in the mood you need to stop what you are doing and give him your full attention because he will let nothing get in the way of getting a good fuss so you will just have to put down that cup of tea until George says so! He is not a lap cat but he will sit on the sofa next to you or behind you and at bedtime he often tries to sit on his foster mum’s shoulder or chest. He can be ok with some other cats but he doesn’t like the youngsters barrelling up to him to say hi and he can get a bit possessive of his foster mum when her cats are having a fuss so he would be best probably as an only cat. It would also be better to control his diet too as he does have bouts of vomiting from time to time but various tests and changes to his diet have not identified the cause. He is very happy to see visitors and go to them for a fuss, usually because they are telling him what a handsome chap he is so he likes to let them get a closer look! George doesn’t have brilliant eye sight so he can take a swipe at you if you make a sudden movement and startle him so he would be best suited to a quieter home with adults. He likes to take a turn in the garden on a nice day but is happy to spend most of his time indoors on a bed or sofa snoozing. Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • Buster

Can you offer our special boy his perfect home? Buster had been straying for at least a year before one of our volunteers was able to befriend him enough to catch him. He was flea treated, wormed and bathed and when he was finally able to see a vet for his chip and snip, he tested positive for FIV. This was quite a blow as this lovely lad is still fairly young at around  3-4 years old and has been used to roaming over a large area. Although a very scared boy, Buster has never attempted to bite or scratch as he has had tablets put down his throat to worm him  and liquid squirted in his ears to clean them. Even during his well overdue bath, he endured it with good grace and not too much wriggling (there is a video!) and smelled much the sweeter afterwards. He is still wary and needs to get used to living in a home as currently he is in one room as he can’t mix with other cats so he will need a patient owner willing to do a bit of work to help him gain confidence and to understand what it is to be a domestic moggy. Whilst still shy, once you start to stroke him he is soon purring and loves a good chin scratch. He will even sit quietly on his foster mum’s knee for an hour or so in the evening. Buster will be due his second vaccination 9th July and should then be ready to go. He needs to be in a home with adults and ideally with access to a suitable cat-secure garden or catio so he can still get some fresh air and exercise safely. Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.  Insurance won't cover FIV but there are generally few vet bills- BWCR will cover the cost of any FIV-related issues at one of our vets.
  • Kiki

If you want a cat with character who is a bit of a challenge, Kiki might be the girl for you! This girl has definitely earned her foster mum’s “Cheeky Kiki” nickname with her antics. One minute you will be shouting at her for pulling all the loo paper off the roll (and not looking at all sorry), the next you are laughing as she “helps” you to make the bed and she dives into a pillow case and starts rolling about and then later she might be on the sofa or bed, purring away as she sucks her fleece blanket and your heart melts. Kiki is just 2, has a lot of energy and is curious about everything but she does not always react well to strange things or new situations. She came to us because after going to stay with the owner's friends when they were on holiday, she got so frightened that she started to lash out constantly and could not settle when they returned home so she came into foster with us. Realising that this little girl was just scared out of her wits, her foster mum set about trying to make her feel safe, gradually introducing her to new things and crucially other cats who she could learn from. Kiki had never been outside before so unusually for a foster situation, she was eventually introduced to going outside so she could run off some energy and experience new things. Initially growling at everything, it has been the making of her. Kiki loves to be outside and will go to some of the neighbours for a fuss. She has also turned into a bit of a magpie and does bring home things she finds, mostly bottle tops, some hair bands and the collars of other cats that she has found (including her own after she lost it, clever girl.) To give Kiki the right home and get the best out of her, she needs an adult only home with a garden away from busy roads as she will go off exploring. She will also need people who have some cat experience and a lot of patience who are willing to spend the time on her that she will need to settle into a new home with support from her current foster mum. She could be rehomed with other cats but they would need to be fairly robust as Kiki is super playful and can scare a more nervous cat. Kiki is neutered, chipped and vaccinated. Comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • Sadie

Sadie is a sweet little cat with a lot of love to give. She is shy at first but once she trusts you she follows you everywhere! She's only about 18 months old and is intelligent and very energetic so likes to be stimulated with games and play. I feel like she'd be happy in a household with older children so they could keep her entertained. But she also seems equally happy to chill out with the adults! She doesn't like to be picked up but loves a good chin scratch, she will give your hand plenty of boops to make sure you give them to her! Sadie would love a garden away from busy roads to expend some of that energy and needs to be an only puss. She suffered an injury to eye which meant it had to be removed but it doesn't affect her at all. Neutered and chipped plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance. • Lila

Lila has done a great job of raising her three kittens being such a young mum herself and it's now her time to be a pampurred puss.  She is a gentle, friendly girl who loves company.  She enjoys playing with her toys and sitting by a window watching the world go by.
She'd be fine with older children as she's a confident little thing but would prefer to be an only puss and have all the spoiling for herself.
She'll need a garden away from busy roads.
Lila is about 18 months, has had her first vacc and now just waiting to be neutered and chipped.
  • Pip

Lovely Pip is such a dream to have around. From the day he arrived, he has made himself right at home. His routine involves waking us up for cuddles before breakfast and then eating, following the sunny spots around and sleeping (including sleeping on the bed with/on us). He's not the most athletic of cats, we've tried a few toys to a lackluster response. Once a day he does like a mad game of chase the shoelace (he is totally unimpressed by the laser pointer) and he will go crazy for a bit of catnip. He's incredibly relaxed and never lashes out, he's even been known to stay asleep on the sofa when the hoover is running. Not one for small talk, Pip only really miaows once or twice a day to let us know when he thinks it's mealtime or he wants some attention. We have found that he can be a bit of a guzzle guts so we can't put out too much food for him at any one time. He had some issues with his right eye which were dealt with by the vet before he came to us but it seems to be stable and not causing him any discomfort. Pip is FIV+ which means he is on permanent indoor-only lockdown so he doesn't infect other cats or pick up any illnesses.
  • Tabitha & Dino

The odd couple! Dino is about 6 years and Tabitha is about 6 months and they've struck up a firm friendship and love to be together. Tabitha will headbutt Dino for fuss and he purrs his little heart out for her reassuring her that everything is ok. She cannot get enough cuddles from her human company too! Both were living outside but have definitely grown to love home comforts. They are shy initially but it doesn't take long for them to settle and enjoy lots of fuss. They couldn't cope with young children but are ok with other cats and would love a garden away from busy roads. Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus come with 5 weeks free insurance. Tabitha has had an eye infection which may have been flu and it could flare up with the stress of moving but BWCR will cover any costs at one if our vets if it does.
