    A boy called Mimi

    A boy called.. Mimi💜
Mimi is a superaffectionate puss who loves his humans and would be stroked/ brushed/ scratched/ tickled/ cuddled all day if he could. He was in an empty house for several weeks whilst his owner was hospitalised and he hated being alone and started overgrooming.
"Mimi is a confident boy who is happiest being sat on or near you. Enjoying his creature comforts, he's happiest curled up on a heated blanket or a lap and snoring!
We have described him to friends as "aggressively affectionate" as he will pester for ear scratches and chin tickles, sometimes forgetting his manners and using his claws to keep you stroking him!
He loves his food, mostly ignoring dry food for wet, uses his box well and is keen to go outside though we doubt he'd go far. He would prefer a home where people are around most of the time and can give him lots of attention."
He's always been an only puss so would like to stay that way and older children would be fine - they just need to aware of his overenthusiastic attempts to make your hand keep petting him.
About 12 yrs old, neutered,  chipped,  vaccinated,  had a dental plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • Dennis & Denzel & Dolly & Dotty

More kittens from Avonmouth 💜 Luckily we managed to trap their feral mum whilst she was pregnant and she gave birth to these cuties in foster. "Dennis, Denzel, Dolly and Dotty - looking for homes in pairs. These cute bundles of joy were born on the 27th February to one of the ferals that we trapped at Avonmouth. They charge around chasing each other and at times they appear to play more like dogs chasing their own tails! They are a definite trip hazard, ruling the house and expecting you to get out of their way 😹 As soon as they wake up and see you they charge over purring like little steam engines wanting a fuss. Their favourite toys are a ball in a tube and a feather on a stick and they will, play for hours - they're terrible timewasters! Dainty Dolly (the one with more black on her face) is a little timid but is getting braver day by day with the help of her siblings. They would be ok with older children and need a garden away from busy roads." They are all chipped and have had their 1st vaccination plus come with 5 weeks free insurance. • Leo & Sally

**This beautiful pair are bonded and need to be homed together.** They previously lived with two other cats and older children and they both exhibited signs of stress, but, since being in a quiet foster home they've been absolutely fine. "Leo and Sally have never showed any signs of anxiety in their new surroundings; Sally soon came out of hiding, taking cues from her extrovert, confident brother and they both settled down very quickly. They have a close bond and definitely need to stay together. I really feel they are ready for a forever home, reluctantly because they’re absolutely gorgeous and having them around is such a joy! They are 2 years old and are very sociable, playful and affectionate and love attention though they also love competing for balls, chasing each other and snuggling up together on their favourite chair." They'll need a quieter home, older children may be ok plus a garden away from busy roads. Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus come with 5 weeks free insurance. • Laddy

Laddy was found living with a feral colony and when he was trapped we found that he's very definitely not feral! He is a bit grubby and a little underweight but otherwise really well. He is so so friendly that it's really difficult to get a good picture 😹 Laddy just wants lots of fuss made of him, he curls around your legs and doesn't want you to leave him. He is out in a purpose built pen at the moment but would love to be inside curled up on someone's lap!
He isn't crazy about other cats - the ferals obviously served their purpose but he'd much rather be an only puss! He'd be fine with children and he'd love a garden away from busy roads.

About 3 years old, neutered, chipped, had first vaccination plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • Pixie

Water baby looking for a new sink 💜 Well how do I describe Pixie - mad as a box of frogs probably covers it! . She is the one of the most beautiful cats I have ever met, about 18 months old. She loves her food but is a nibbler and tends to eat small amounts through the day. She is very friendly but also likes her own space and a sunny windowsill. She was stressed in her previous home with young children so needs a quieter home now with no other pets. She starved herself for 2 days when she first arrived but has since really come out of her shell. This cat is a true wonder of the world, she is a teenager of monumental proportions. She likes to bin dive and get on the side in the kitchen. She understands the word no but I often have to remove her from said bin and side. She has recently started playing properly. She absolutely loves the box I have got with holes in and spends ages getting the balls mice etc out and thoroughly trashes her room whilst playing. She loves a wool ball and charges all over the house, up and down the stairs etc chasing it to give it a good battering. She also loves catnip and hanging toys. She hunts through the bannisters and is an absolute devil on the stairs. - I wouldn't recommend her for those less agile! She also hunts toes, my 18 year old son is her plaything, the pair of them seem to be the same mental age, it's absolutely marvellous 🤣 She is totally unique and an absolute joy and has a particular fascination with taps and plugs. She loves to watch water coming out of the tap and then into the plughole ( it's magic you know, where does it come from and where does it go?) She is so determined that she barges into the bathroom in the morning, gets in the sink and cries for you to turn the tap on. She often puts her paw in the flow of water. She then spends a considerable amount of time examining the tap, plughole and the water, her nose goes right down the plughole. Honestly this is a new one on me but it's absolutely magic to watch. She looks at you in delight. In this house she gets a "clever girl" - we embrace the lunacy! She is a fabulous cat whose personality is really shining now she is truly settled. She is happy, friendly and fun. We will miss her but she is ready to go to a special home that will embrace her idiosyncrasies. Neutered, chipped, had first vaccination plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue? • Twiggy

Young at heart 💜 If you want a playful, affectionate little cat, look no further than Twiggy. She's 14 years old but bounces around like a cat half her age, and when she's finished playing she'll be all over you for cuddles. She purrs and dribbles with joy and won't take no for an answer when she decides it's snuggling time! Twiggy is curious and wants to be involved in whatever you do, and she will want to come to bed with you at night, so no closed doors are allowed! She previously lived with four other cats but as she's got older she has decided that she'd rather have people all to herself, so she'd like to be a solo cat please. She'd love a garden away from busy roads and she'd be fine with older children. Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance. • Bauble, Tinsel, Glitter

Bauble and Tinsel are siblings whilst little tabby Glitter was a single, shy girlie who badly needed some friends. She's still timid but loves to play and snuggle up with her new besties so we want to keep them all together. Bauble is a big character, he's funny, cheeky and very loving, cuddly and playful. He purrs as soon as you stroke him and loves to be held. Tinsel is a gentle and loving cat. She loves to play, and cuddle up on the sofa. Like Bauble, she likes to be held and is a big purrer. Glitter is much shyer and will need more time to settle but once she warms to you, she's very friendly, purrs and snuggles up to you. She's scared of loud noises so they'll need a quieter home with no young children and they'd love a garden away from busy roads as they're desperate to go outside. They all have a healthy appetite and come running when it's time for food. They're very close, grooming each other and sleep tangled up! Tinsel was born with mild Swimmers syndrome where her legs splayed outwards but she's had physio and she's now fine - it definitely doesn't affect her mobility! She also has an undershot lower jaw - this needs keeping an eye on as an adult to check her lower teeth don't irritate/pierce her upper jaw. She may need extractions if they do and BWCR will fund this at one of our vets. About 5 months old, they've all been vaccinated and will be neutered and chipped soon, plus come with 5 weeks free insurance. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue? • Tango

You might remember Tango from a few months ago - a stray boy un-neutered and unchipped who arrived in a very sorry state. His fostermum has lavished him with TLC for months and he's now loving life.
"Tango is my little hero, guardian and all round super charmer.
He is quite literally the bravest cat I have ever met, he came to me with FIV, FeLV and diabetes and, at one point, he was having fortnightly and sometimes weekly vet visits, but he took all of that in his stride, stubborn enough not to worry and soppy enough to allow all the necessary vet work.
He once came back from the vets with his cat carrier labelled Tango and a massive heart. He had a 'careful he swipes' marked up on his vet notes, apparently after cuddles and attention at the vets and his kennel being closed he'd stick his paws out and ask for more...
He likes to follow me around, he sits with me all day and meows for his food and knows exactly how to manipulate me.  He has the biggest cutest eyes that are hard to say no to. I think he needs a person to attach to, he's a bit scared of my partner but does accept fuss from him, in fact I think he is a little nervous generally but hadn't noticed because he's so confident with me. He sits on my lap and he does that all day when I'm working from home...He does the nose boop, slow blink, I think they're hello meows and greetings and he's just pretty much begged to sit on my lap whilst I write this.
Oh almost forgot he's got massive feet and big fat tom cat chubby cheeks!"
And now for the serious stuff:
Tango is no longer diabetic but needs to be fed diabetic food to prevent him becoming diabetic again - BWCR can help with the cost of this.
FIV is not really anything to worry about - most cats live normal lives.
FeLV however is life-limiting and we have no idea how long Tango may have. Our last FeLV kitty lived 6 years so we hope Tango is the same.
BWCR will fund any treatments needed for Tango (at our Bristol vets) so we want adopters who will work with us to keep him as happy and healthy for as long as possible.  He's had a rough time on the streets and deserves all the love in the world now.
    Neutered and chipped.

  • Rufus & Ruby & Rosie

The R team are three 7 month old black kittens – Rufus, Ruby and Rosie. Rufus is a very tall chap with the longest tail you will have seen on a cat. He is playful and friendly and adores his sisters and is often washing them – whether they want him to or not! He also loves other cats but they can take offence at his greeting, not everyone wants to be put in a headlock and licked. Ruby is his smaller twin. Sleek and tall like her brother she is a lovely girl who when she has had enough of playing is usually the one to be first to curl up on the sofa next to foster mum. She is no stranger to giving you a wash if she thinks you need it! Rosie is the smallest with a slightly fluffier coat and huge orange eyes. She can be shy but once she realises visitors mean her no harm she will wander quietly over and throw herself at their feet for a belly rub. Whilst her sister is a sensible girl, Rosie can be the naughty little kid who when she know it’s bedtime doesn’t trot up the stairs to the bedroom with her sister but starts running around and hiding behind furniture until you catch her! Ruby and Rosie did go to a new home together but Rosie developed cystitis. She has been fine for more than 2 months now she is back as a trio and now they have all been together so long and are so close we would like them to stay together. They can be a little nervous at first meetings so would not be good with young children but would be fine with older ones. They would need a garden, away from busy roads, to go out and explore and they are already staring longingly out of the French doors to do just that. Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus come with 5 weeks free insurance. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue? • Smudge

    ,
No idea why he's called Smudge 😂💜 Smudge loves to sleep up in a high place or nestled underneath a blanket. He is beginning to enjoy playing with string and empty toilet roll holders (!) and is starting to show an interest in life outside the front door so needs a garden away from busy roads. He is a little fussy with what he eats, he likes a specific brand of wet food and it must always be fish! Smudge has taken some time to settle in but is now settled in a good routine. He is still nervy of loud or unexpected noises and he sometimes gets confused between affection and playing, which has led to a few unexpected nips. As long as you are aware and looking for the behaviour, you can avoid these easily enough - he's still learning how to cat, bless him. He will need a quiet, understanding home with older or no children and no other pets. About 6 yrs old, neutered, chipped, had first vaccination plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance. • Sid

    ,
Can't believe we haven't had a single enquiry for this gorgeous boy 💜
Silly Sid is a young at heart miniature panther; previously a stray, this gentleman has become accustomed to the home comforts which humans can offer.
Sid has had a hard life on the streets, and has had quite a few teeth removed – you’d never know, based on the way he eats his food though and the only sign is the way he does frequent tongue bleps  - he'll be a star on "Tongue out Tuesdays"!
Although slightly older you’d never know based on the way he plays with his feather on a stick. He enjoys looking out the window and is keen to go outside again so needs a garden away from busy roads.  He would suit a quieter home (no children or other pets) and whomever takes him must be prepared to have an extra colleague if they work from home – Sid currently cries beside me unless I set him up his own work station ( ie cardboard box but he likes to feel he's helping!) next to me whilst I work.
If you’re looking for a little shadow, silly Sid is your man!
About 11 yrs, neutered,  chipped,  vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.

  • Meg & Max

Mum Meg and son Max 💜💜 This pretty pair are more lucky cats rescued from a life on the streets. They are shy but loving, very gentle natured and enjoy a fuss but like to approach you first. They are not overly happy being picked up so will need a patient household to help them progress and so are not suitable for very young children. Max loves his Mum and they are very close with Meg regularly still washing him though she puts him in his place from time to time too - once a mum, always a mum! They would do well settled in one room to begin with and with puppy pads/newspaper around the litter tray - Max had an upset tummy when he first arrived (all sorted now) and he associates the litter tray with discomfort. His once daily poop tends to be just outside the tray now and obviously won't be an issue once they start going outside. They'd love a garden away from busy roads and they're good with other cats. Meg is 3 yrs, Max is 2yrs and they're both neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus come with 5 weeks free insurance. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue?
