    Hunter

    ,
Longterm foster needed for pedigree Burmese, Hunter. He's nearly 16 and in very early renal failure but should hopefully have a few years yet on a renal diet!
He's very vocal and affectionate but he does have a cheeky streak. Once you know him you get to recognise the look in his eye when he's about to give you a little nip - he's very easy to read but needs an adult-only home with someone experienced in talking cat!
He loves attention, is very bright and would like a garden to potter in though we doubt he'd go far. He's been well-loved and has a full service history but his owner sadly died and Hunter is missing being the centre of attention.
He'll need regular check ups and BWCR are happy to pay for those at Fernlea vets in Kingswood or Hanham.
Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.

    Jake and Elwood

Jake and Elwood came to their foster home fresh from the street at 12 weeks old, frightened and unsocialised. Their personalities immediately shone through despite this, with confident little Jake always sitting protectively in front of his timid brother, Elwood, and warding away "danger". Jake's defensive nature very quickly melted into kittenish curiosity as he learnt that head scratches actually feel quite nice, humans can be quite fun to play with, and Dreamies are the best thing in the world.
Quiet Elwood has taken a few weeks to come around. He spent a while hiding, only coming out if the coast was clear so that he could have a rough and tumble with his brother! For this reason the two would be suited to a home without small children, and with understanding parents who have the patience to let him come out of his shell slowly. Once you've earned his trust he really is worth it, as long as he's approached gently he can't resist a stroke, and will wind around and around your legs purring his fuzzy head off!
They need to be kept together as the company is good for both of them - Jake has a lot of energy and burns this off playing with Elwood, and Elwood has the confidence to be his kittenish self when Jake encourages him to come out for some fun."
They'll need a garden away from busy roads and would be fine with other cats.
About 4 months old, neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus come with 5 weeks free insurance.

    Frida and Fred

    ,
Frida (b&w) and Baby Ferg are brother and sister to Mitsy and Tipsey and so are also around 4 months old. They too were full of fleas when they arrived and poor Baby Ferg had scratched himself to bits he was so uncomfortable, with no more fleas he is healing up nicely now. Baby Ferg is the most laid back of the kittens and happy to come over to foster mum for fuss. He loves to play with his toys or chase one of his siblings around. His sister Frida is the quietest of the siblings, she likes her cuddles but she likes to sit quietly away from the rough and tumble of the others and she purrs gently. She loves her toys but can be overshadowed by her more boisterous sister so has been matched with the most laidback brother to ensure she can get some attention. As with the other two, they are shy initially so will need a family with some time to settle them in and in a house with a nice safe garden when they are old enough to explore. Because they are shy they would be best with older children.  Both are neutered, chipped and vaccinated and come with 5 weeks free insurance. If you're interested please, mail us at [email protected].

    Mitsy and Tipsey

    ,
Mitsy (b&w) and Tipsey are looking for a home together 💜
They're a brother and sister combo around 4 months old. They did not have the best start in life and came to us covered in fleas and a little scared. Mitsy had the most to say, growling and hissing at foster mum whilst Tipsey hid behind her with the rest of his siblings. However within 48 hours, and probably feeling a lot better without their uninvited guests, they became brave and started to come for cuddles. Mitsy purrs as soon as foster mum goes into their room and is always the first in line for a fuss. Tipsey loves a cuddle too and they are both very playful, Tipsey especially loves to bat a ball around and will carry it around in his mouth, growling if one of his siblings tries to steal it and they both love to chase any stick toy with a mouse or feather on the end.
These guys are shy initially so will need a family with some time to settle them in and in a home with a nice safe garden so they can explore when they are old enough. Because they are shy they would be best with older children and they're fine with other cats They are both chipped, neutered and vaccinated plus come with 5 weeks free insurance.
If you're interested in this playful pair please email us at [email protected].

    Lala

    ,
LaLa is a teeny tiny thing of around a year old with silky black fur and gorgeous green eyes. Already she has had 2 homes who don’t seem to have spent much time on her and she is desperate for affection. This beautiful girl is very kitten-like in size and attitude and is very curious but can get spooked at the unfamiliar. She hasn’t really been outdoors so will need a new home with a safe garden she can explore. She loves a fuss and loves to sit on her foster mum’s tummy or chest – the closer she can get to you, the happier she is! She loves her toys and will purr as she chases a feather on a stick or plays with a catnip mouse. LaLa can take a swipe, usually with a soft paw, so she wouldn’t be suited to a home with young children but teenagers should be fine. She does hate other cats though! Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance. If you're interested in LaLa please mail us at [email protected].
  • Charlotte & Charlie & Barley

    ,
Shy but very friendly and playful neutered and chipped 6 month old sister & brothers. Charlotte is the grey short haired, Charlie is the grey long haired and Barley is the ginger/white. Charlie has a low grade heart murmur which just needs to be monitored. They are very good together so could go in any combination or to be with another cat or on their own. They are kittens of a feral mum and are easily spooked so would not suit very young children. They are very people orientated and love being smoothed and are getting used to being picked up. Chipped, neutered, not vacc'd, older children, outside space, other cats yes, dogs not known. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue? • Benji & Bean & Boomer

    ,
Three little farm kitties looking for a home together 💜 Benji, Bean and Boomer were pretty scare when they first arrived as they hadn't had much socialisation but, after a month in foster, they're tons better now and only run if the doorbell rings or the vacuum cleaner starts up! They're sweet, gentle affectionate kittens and need a quieter home with no young children and a garden away from busy roads. They had mild flu symptoms when they arrived but are fit and well now. The symptoms may recur through stress when they're rehomed and BWCR will cover any vet bills for this at one of our vets. Benji is about 18 weeks and Bean and Boomer are about 14 weeks. Vaccinated and chipped plus come with 5 weeks free insurance. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue? • Saffie & Nala

Saffie and Nala 💜 Two more beautiful cats looking for a lovely new home. It's been a heartbreaking decision for their owners but, sadly, one is so allergic that she can't even be in the same room with them any more. "Saffie, a 8 year old TICA registered Bengal. She's very unusual in colour (golden) and temperament - not the crazy hyperactive typical Bengal – I’d describe her as very low maintenance for a Bengal...medium maintenance for a cat. We rescued her several years ago as an ex-queen who'd been spayed and was severely bullied by the other queens in the house. The breeders she was with had,in turn, rescued her from irresponsible breeders who'd abused her as a kitten. Saffie’s first reaction to everything is to run and hide, and she can be a bit anxious and timid. Even when frightened or being made to do something she doesn’t want to (like cutting her nails), she’s never, ever, aggressive. She's whip-smart but would never admit to it. Loves lounging, bird watching, showing the impressive array of vocalisations she can make, and curling next to you for a stroke once you've earned her trust. Nala is a 4 year old TICA registered Australian Mist. They’re super rare here in the UK, and we got her as a kitten to bring Saffie out of her shell. It was a huge success! Nala is thick as two short planks, superfriendly, and superchill. She amazing with our kids, allowing the 2 year old to chase her around and collapse on top of her for massive snuggles. She absolutely adores cuddles. She'll even stand and put her arms up in the air to be picked up! We’ve had many friends remark on how they’ve never seen a better-looking cat than Saffie, but it’s Nala who converts the cat-haters! Neither are the least bit aggressive. Both are neutered, no underlying health conditions we know of, and have been house cats up until about a year ago when we decided to let them roam and sunbathe in our garden (but no further)." Nala and Saffie need to stay together with time for Saffie to settle and a supersafe location away from busy roads or maybe a catio or similar to keep them safe. Nala is good with children but Saffie is more timid so we'll pass all suitable applications to the owners as they know their cats best :) Neutered, chipped, starting their vaccinations plus come with 5 weeks free insurance. • Nellie and Mac

Nellie and Mac are a beautiful mother and son combo looking for a home together. Nellie is 5 and Mac is 4. "Mac and Nellie are such sweet cats. They are not lap cats but do love a good scratch behind their ears and a lot of attention. Nellie goes into what I call kitten mood where she starts throwing her toys around and rolling all over the floor. Mac loves a sneaky bit of ham or chicken. They would suit a home with older children as they can get a little bit too excited when playing, and they definitely need outdoor space away from busy roads as they like to explore. They have both turned into my shadows and follow me everywhere including the bathroom. They are fantastic cats and will make a great addition to whomever adopts them. I don't know how they would be with other cats but they do enjoy each other's company." Both are neutered, chipped, vaccinated and come with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • Doris (b&w) and Delilah(g&w)

    ,
Doris(b&w)and Delilah(g&w)14 weeks old These two girls were born to a farm cat and sadly were the only 2 to survive from the litter and their mum abandoned them, so they were brought to us to be hand reared. They have done really well in foster and even though used to human contact from a young age Doris can still be shy when meeting new people and definitely isn't keen on children, so the girls would need an adult only home or possibly with older teenage children and no other pets. Both girls are very loving and playful, Doris is very vocal and hyper whereas Delilah is more sedate, they follow their foster mum around the house and like to be involved in everything she's doing. The girls are flu carriers but the only symptoms they have had is a runny eye once whilst with us, so would be best they stay in Bristol so we can help with veterinary treatment if needed. They will need to stay together and need a super safe location and a home with a catflap. If you think you can offer the girls the loving home they deserve please email the rescue on [email protected] to apply.
  • Benny Boy

What can we say...yet another un-neutered stray boy is now safe in foster with us 💜 Benny Boy had been straying for months and turned up with an eye injury one day so we were contacted. He's fine now and has turned out to be a lovely boy- he was initially shy and is still a little unsure so needs a quieter adult-only home and time to settle. He loves being stroked and being  brushed but will tell you when he's had enough! He also loves sitting on the windowsill and watching the world go by so he'd like a garden away from busy roads. He seems fine with other cats :) About 9-10 years old, neutered, chipped, had first vaccination plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • Sherlock

Indoor home needed for Sherlock 💜 Poor Sherlock has had a rough time on the streets and is looking forward to a cosy retirement. He's only about 7 but is already FIV positive and been shot with an air rifle - plus the indignity of a lion cut as he was so matted when he arrived! His foster mum says he's a lovable rogue and was very scared and frightened to begin with  but after three months in foster he's starting to trust again. He loves being stroked but can get over stimulated as he's not used to it and can bat you with his paw. We think he's probably been kicked too as he's wary of legs and can give them a whack too if he gets agitated. He loves catnip, looking out the window, food and treats, not necessarily in that order! He enjoys beating up his scratch post and will even chase a ball now. He needs to go to an experienced cat home who can continue working with him and helping him relax. He's fine with other cats and will run up to them excitedly, chirping his little head off so a chilled playmate would be good if there's another FIV puss needing a friend. We don't know if he might bite another puss in play so best not with any non-FIV cats. He likes to sleep in his carrier as he feels safe there and is slowly building up his confidence-he's going to be a lovely boy when he gets there :) Neutered, chipped, had first vaccination. Had a dental and air gun pellet removed. Comes with 5 weeks free insurance and BWCR can cover any FIV-related costs at Fernlea vets in Hanham/Kingswood if necessary.
  • Princess & Tux

    ,
They are an odd couple but they are getting along SO much better now that Princess has stopped living under the sofa and Tux is growing up fast and getting some manners. They sleep together, travel in the cat carrier together, groom each other and keep each other company if you are out. They have a few fights too but nothing serious and Princess can stand her own. They were house cats before but now they have access to the garden which they love. Tux has only just ventured into next doors garden so quite a sweet gentle pair who are a bit naive of the local tom cat and still discovering butterflies and bugs. Princess is 100% lap cat. She's always hanging around the sofa waiting for cuddles and belly rubs. She really loves Dreamies and swallows them whole! Tux eats and eats! We have to feed Princess away from him so she has a chance before he finishes off her dinner too. He's very playful as you would expect for 10 months but not a lap cat yet. He does like to cuddle up when you are in bed and he is very affectionate and will give you lots of attention (sometimes too much!) And wake you up in the morning for breakfast with nose kisses. Both of them are loving and gentle but will be shy at first with new people. It took Princess longer than most cats to feel at home and she is undemanding and quiet (her requests are made by silent staring). My friends 7 year old was able to play with Tux for a few minutes but Princess was fairly terrified but was bribed by Dreamies to be visible. Tux can hear a Dreamies bag open from miles! Tux has a distinctive purr and always ready to play a game with you. He amuses himself too and the house is scattered with his toys.....he will ask to go out but both havent mastered the cat flap yet. He's definitely a mummys boy....he doesn't like to be far away from me whilst Princess is more likely to be on Dick and watching TV with him. You can pick them up and cuddle them, it's obvious they have been loved. Neutered, chipped, had first vaccinations plus come with 5 weeks free insurance. • Hercules

    ,
Hercules is a tiny ginger boy who has been straying for months with no owner claiming him. Unsurprisingly he wasn't neutered or chipped...like so many sadly. He's getting used to life as a pet and learning about home comforts - he approves! He's becoming very affectionate and loves laptime and chatting to foster mum - he is pretty vocal. He does still get a bit scared though and can try to defend himself, so needs an adult-only household. Also best on his own as he is very dominant with other cats and he definitely needs a garden away from busy roads as he's desperate to go out. Hercules just needs some time to unlearn his street ways and he'll be a lovely boy. Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue? Make sure you read our Adopt page and complete our Adoption Application form. • Holly and Ivy

    ,
Holly and Ivy are an adorable duo who aren’t related but have become the best of friends and love to chase each other round playing. Ivy was very timid and Holly took her under her wing and showed her the ropes and now these besties are inseparable. Ivy is still shy and will need time to settle in but both are affectionate little purrbags now. They'll need a quieter adult-only home with a garden away from busy roads and owners who can continue to build Ivy's trust. Holly is a confident girl so it shouldn't take too long! Both are 9-10 months old, neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus come with 5 weeks free insurance.
