  • Tilly & Tess

Tilly and Tess 💜 Tilly and Tess are half-sisters - their mums are mother and daughter, and both litters were fathered by the same tom cat. Tess (full tabby) is 22 weeks old. Tilly (tabby, white & ginger) is 15 weeks old. Tilly had a lot more handling when she was younger so she's definitely the more confident of the two. She's very curious and is very happy to be around people. She's definitely a bit of a diva - she is very vocal and will let you know when she wants you to play or give her some fuss! She’s also a bit of a love bug and will climb on to your lap to fall asleep once she’s had enough of play time. Tess has Swimmer's Syndrome. You can hardly notice her disability though as she gets around just fine! She can be a little bit more reserved than Tilly. She can sometimes get frightened by noises and she's a bit shy around new people and things. When she's unsure she will hide, but she can be tempted out to play with her favourite piece of string! Once she gets to know you, she can definitely be affectionate. She will give you lots of head bumps to let you know when she wants some loving. Both can tend to bite a bit whilst playing, especially Tilly when she gets the zoomies. So, they would probably be best suited to a home either with no children, or with sensible older children. They both lived with a dog in their previous foster home, and in their current foster home they are living with two adult cats. So, they could be suitable for a home with calm friendly pets as Tess gets frightened by any boisterous/high energy behaviour. They need a loving family that can be accepting of Tess' disability, and that will have the time to play because they both have a lot of kitten energy to expend. Tess’ Swimmer’s Syndrome does not hold her back in anyway. She has very good mobility and is able to run and play like any other kitten. She will need encouragement to keep moving around and will also benefit from continued “physiotherapy” to help further strengthen the muscles in her back legs. Both Tilly and Tess have thoroughly enjoyed having access to a window ledge to watch the birds and insects outside. Once they are both old enough, they would love to have access to a safe and secure garden away from busy roads. Both have been vaccinated and come with 5 weeks free insurance. • Poppy

Pretty panther Poppy 💜 Poppy was surrendered to us as she was very stressed by the birth of a new baby and, since being in foster with no children and no other cats, she's like the cat that got the cream :) She's playful and affectionate and flourishing having all the attention to herself so she'd really like to continue in her new home. She is used to going out and could do with a bit more exercise so a garden away from busy roads is on her wishlist. 7yrs old, neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks fee insurance.
  • Beau

Special home needed for this very special boy 💜 This handsome chonk is Beau. He is about 8 years old and likely to be a British Blue. Beau was found as a very poorly stray and his finder spent a lot of time and money on getting him well but wasn’t in a position to be able to manage his health issues long term so he came into foster with us. Beau has a condition called triaditis which means he suffers from inflammation of his pancreas, liver and small intestine. It can be managed with a strict diet and after following the diet and some medication, all his tests have now come back normal. Beau is a lovely purry boy with lots of character and is always making his foster mum laugh with his antics. He will try to squeeze into the smallest cat bed he can find or flop down in the middle of the doorway to snooze. If he flops down in the corridor and you walk past him without giving him a stroke he will bat you for neglecting him. He does like to play although he is quite selective about the toys he likes and gets bored very quickly. Despite his size, Beau can be scared of noises or people/objects he isn’t familiar with – whilst being scared of the hoover is pretty standard, hissing at the mop bucket and running away is a new one on us. Beau will need a quieter home, teenage children should be fine but everyone in the household will need to understand that food cannot be left out anywhere Beau could eat it and that he can’t get out into an uncontrolled environment where he coukd beg or scave get food. The specialist food he eats will cost under £5 a week, he likes it and so long as he stays on it and his weight is maintained his condition should remain stable. He is a large cat and used to going outside so any future home would need a lot of space, ideally with a secure garden or catio to keep him occupied and provide him with exercise. He would need to be the only pet to manage his diet properly but as he seems to absolutely hate other cats that would suit him just fine! Neutered, chipped, had first vaccination plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance. As insurance won't cover his triaditis, BWCR will cover any costs relating to this at Fernlea vets in Kingswood or Hanham. We must stress he needs responsible owners who will keep him on his diet - no treats, no tidbits! Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue? • Xena

Quiet stess-free home needed for our little warrior princess 💜 Xena is a very friendly, playful and adventurous1 year old long haired female. She's very people orientated and enjoys being smoothed and is getting used to laps and being picked up. She wouldn't suit very young children as she has had stress induced (ie non-epileptic) seizures when being handled so needs to be carefully monitored. These incidents have disappeared since Xena has been separated from her siblings and her confidence has greatly increased so she needs to be an only cat in a quiet household to keep her stress levels as low as possible . No treatment or tests have been carried out or are planned though any related treatment/costs would be covered by vets in East Bristol. The aim is for Xena to be able to go outside, rather than be an indoor only cat, but this would need to be very controlled so that any problems could be easily dealt with though none are anticipated due to the progress that she has made. Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue? • Bub

Bug needs an understanding home 💜 Bug was originally adopted from the RSPCA in March 2016, they thought he was about 8 months old and had been a stray - he's a big puss with a big personality. He is a constant tail wagger, most of the time he likes a head rub, or he will jump on the kitchen table then onto your shoulder if he wants a cuddle, he's pretty agile! He does get grumpy and will scratch or bite if you give him attention when he is not up for it so you need to read the signs and he needs an adult-only home with no other pets. So far, so typical but unfortunately some things changed during lockdown which really stressed him out and made him miserable: The neighbours got 2 new kittens and a strange cat also started appearing in the garden and they all came into the house at night, stealing his food, bullying him and spraying on his territory :( Then a new baby arrived and Bug started pulling his fur out with the stress of it all and hissing and spitting at himself to vent his frustration. Poor Bug just wants a quiet life like he had before, preferably with not many cats in the neighbourhood and definitely none that will steal his supper! He'd like a garden away from busy roads where he can rule the roost again. Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue?
