However, to ensure his long-term happiness and success, his ideal home must be:

• A Rural or Semi-Rural Setting: He requires safe outdoor access to explore and patrol. This is non-negotiable for his well-being.
• A Solo Pet Household: He needs to be the only cat in the home and preferably the only pet. He sees other animals as intruders in his territory, which causes him stress.
• An Adult-Only Home: He does best with adults or families with older, respectful teenagers. His high spirit and occasional overstimulation mean a home without young children is best.
• An Owner with Experience: The ideal match is someone who understands and appreciates a cat with a “wild streak.” He is not aggressive, but he is a primitive breed who communicates with his teeth on rare, predictable occasions when overstimulated. An experienced owner will understand this is not malice, but nature, and will know how to redirect his energy.
