    Jazz

Jazz is a confident and friendly 9 month old who was given up because the daughter was allergic. She loves to play a lot and gets huge bursts of energy a few times a day, and she would love a garden away from busy roads for all those funny half hours! She does get carried away and bite and scratch a lot while playing so wouldn't suit young children but she can be taught to do this less with distraction and definitely not using your hands (or other body parts!) as toys. She loves chasing string and running around after balls as well as surprise attacking your legs ! She’s confident around new people and doesn’t seem to mind noisiness too much. She likes to be in the same room as people but isn’t much of a lap cat though she will come and sit on me purring away every so often. She warms up to people quickly and can be super sweet and affectionate. Jazz only meows occasionally but trills to greet me every time she sees me and will run over for a quick stoke. Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.

    Marv

Marv is a super affectionate and playful cat. He's crazy for catnip and loves to spend his days playing and relaxing. He loves attention and will cuddle up to you, especially if you're wearing a cosy blanket. He's vet estimated around 2-5 years old - we think he's closer to 2 as he's so full of beans!  He would suit a home with a garden to explore away from busy roads as he's so lively and no other cats.
He can play rough in his excitement and he catch you with his claws and teeth so wouldn't be good with younger children.
He did have a touch of conjunctivitis when he arrived but that's all cleared now and he's just one happy entertaining little puss.
Neutered and chipped plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.

    Lila

Lila has done a great job of raising her three kittens being such a young mum herself and it's now her time to be a pampurred puss.  She is a gentle, friendly girl who loves company.  She enjoys playing with her toys and sitting by a window watching the world go by.
She'd be fine with older children as she's a confident little thing but would prefer to be an only puss and have all the spoiling for herself.
She'll need a garden away from busy roads.
Lila is about 18 months, has had her first vacc and now just waiting to be neutered and chipped.

    Noodle

Noodle is a small friendly cat of around 7 years old.  She is a little timid but once settled is happy to have cuddles, though she prefers to sit next to me on the sofa She loves playing - chasing after string, jumping and pouncing. She is great fun, when she wants to play she sits on her ’string’ ready for a game.  She comes from a household that had a new baby and her owners thought the two weren’t compatible, so perhaps a home with older children who would play with her would suit, though she has never hissed or scratched.  She is very curious and loves peering inside my needlework box when I’m sewing - the tape measure is a favourite.
She chirrups mostly and only meows occasionally so no early morning wake up calls.  She is quite happy to wait quietly by bedroom door before being fed.
She loves her scratching post and seems not to feel the need to scratch the furniture thankfully.  This cat has been a joy to foster, she will thrive in a family home with a garden away from a busy road.
Neutered, chipped, had first vaccination plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • Daisy

    ,
Meet Daisy – a sweet, playful, gentle 8 month old curious kitten. Sadly Daisy was found as a stray with a broken pelvis (likely hit by a car). Following treatment, cage rest and lots of cuddles Daisy has recovered very well and is leaping all over the place! She loves lots of attention, is very playful and will get into any open draws or cupboards to investigate what's inside! We've nicknamed her squeaky as she likes to announce she has entered a room with a few squeaks!! She loves playing with toys (and wires!). I think she would be fine with children but needs to be the only kitty. She has a very sweet, affectionate personality and loves lots of company. She'd love a safe garden to investigate and play in. • Cashew

Lovely little Cashew is a beautiful, playful 1 year old boy. When I started fostering him he was super anxious and hid under my sofa for 3 weeks, only coming out at night to eat and use his litter tray. With a lot of time, space, patience and encouragement he gradually came out of hiding. I am so proud of him! He is still a shy boy who hides from strangers or the sound of the door bell at times! However, when he is comfortable with you, he loves to be stroked & fussed. He will sit on your lap when he is the mood, but does not like being picked up. He loves to be In the same room with a human he trusts. He enjoys playing with his toy mice and he has tons of energy! He is never aggressive. He would suit owners who will play with him and are able to give him the time and space to settle in. As a young and active cat he would really enjoy being able to explore outside, so he needs to go to a home with a safe and interesting outdoor space away from busy roads. Also, as he has been so shy and nervous it is important that he meets his new owners beforehand, if possible. Aware that this may need to be done via social distancing so I am hopeful that certain rules will ease in the coming weeks so that this can be achieved.
Cashew came from a multicat household where he didn't get much attention but he's fine with other cats and could benefit from another friendly gentle cat to show him the ropes.
    No children and other pets.
Neutered, chipped plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • Misty

    ,
Misty is a loving and affectionate 2 yr old cat who loves cuddles on the sofa. She is also playful and enjoys bouncing about with variety of toys. This little girl loves her meal times, and it's the only time you'll hear a squeak out of her!
She would be best suited to to a quiet home as she doesn't like loud noises and too many people at a time worry her. She loves to be the centre of attention and enjoys lots of fuss but ..she's a tortie and it's only when she's in the mood 😂  She might get a little bit carried away and give a love bite or two so wouldn't be suitable for a family home or around children. Her tortietude also extends to other cats - she hates them and will run them out of town if she possibly can!
She'd love a garden away from busy roads and hopefully not too many neighbouring cats around.
Our little diva is neutered, chipped plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • Freda

    ,
8-year-old Freda lives for cuddles and craves company. She was kept in an attic for 4 years with another cat who she didn’t get on with, and is re-adjusting to the wider world and its noises. Perhaps because of this, she is quite timid, is easily startled by noises, and around new people or new things. But she has come out of her shell quite a lot since we’ve had her, from hiding for the first couple of days to following us around every room we go. She isn’t bothered by the hair dryer, dishwasher and washing machine noises anymore, though the vacuum cleaner is still a big scary monster for her. She absolutely loves her Dreamies and will try and get some of your human food too but isn’t pushy and can easily be gently redirected. She now takes upon herself to move away from us when we eat, and comes back for cuddles when she sees we have finished our meal. In fact, she is amazingly well behaved: litter-trained with no incident in 2 months we’ve had her with us, she doesn’t scratch the furniture (she loves her scratch pole though). Her sweet and loving personality is shining through more and more every day. She does occasionally display the famous tortie paw action but always stops short of hurting, and it mostly ends up as a gentle tap on your hand or arm. She will let you know when it’s play time with a sweet faint meow that’s just irresistible. Currently, she loves chasing a ball of aluminium foil around and up/down the stairs. She likes the laser pointer on and off as she gets quite frustrated by it after a while. Other than play and meal times, she only meows to let you know she brought you a present (she’s taken to bringing us her toy-bird as a ‘kill’). She gently wakes us up in the morning for food with a gentle tap on the arm and faint meow, then will spend most of the day following the sun for her naps. She will continue to thrive in a quiet home as an only pet, ideally with ‘parents’ who are home most of the time. She doesn’t like being on her own for extended periods of time – perhaps because she was left in a room with little human contact for so long. We don’t know how she is around young children or children in general, but we’ve noticed that the cries of our neighbours’ baby seem to make her wary. After 4 years locked inside, she is not streetwise and would risk getting disorientated or startled if left to roam near noisy roads. But she is showing an increased interest in the outdoors, is very curious of the smells we bring back in on our clothes, and we think she did have access to outdoors in her first 4 years, so a safe garden, well away from busy roads would be ideal for her to spread her paws and exercise her hunting skills. She will reward gentle, patient and loving owners with endless supplies of affection and amazing cuddles. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue? • Tiggy

Tiggy is a small one year-old female silver-tabby with lovely markings. She is gentle but also young and playful, so she will need your attention and some entertainment. She loves chasing balls and small toys. She has a quiet chirrup rather than a meow, which she makes when she is greeting you. She loves her food and will scramble into the food box when you are heading that way, and then you might hear a yowl of impatience. This enthusiasm for food and her small size suggest that she didn't get fed properly in a previous life. This might settle as she becomes more confident that food is definitely coming! She will sometimes sit on your lap, but is more often found sitting adjacent or close-by. She does seem to like company but is equally happy in another room quietly snoozing on a cushion, especially in the sun. She is accepting of gentle strokes and likes being rubbed under the chin, but often just wants to wind around your legs rather than be petted. She doesn't mind being picked up gently but she won't be told what to do, so if you place her on your lap she is just as likely to immediately get off again! She would be ideal in a home with older children and adults, with people who have time to engage with her, but are also able to respect her boundaries and allow her peace and quiet when she chooses. She is showing interest in going outside, so a safe garden would be ideal. Tiggy is neutered and microchipped but has not yet had her vaccinations. She will have to be kept indoors until this can be arranged. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue? • Maisie Moo

    ,
This beautiful girl came to us with her kittens who were rehomed a while ago. She'd been fending for herself outdoors and was very scared initially but has turned into a right little lovebug who enjoys playing and loves all the attention she can get. She'd be fine with children as she has boundless energy but she hates other cats!
She's come from a rural location and doesn't know what roads or cars are so needs another super safe location.
Maisie is about 2 years old, neutered, 3,vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • Lilly

    ,
Lilly is a bundle of nuttyness. She has a beautiful soul and is very friendly. She takes a while to settle but once settled is pretty bomb proof. She is the cat equivalent of a ninja she moves silently and is very elegant. However she has a big personality. She will steal food of any description including tomatoes, biscuits, curry and will take the container her food is kept in and push it off wherever you've put it and make a very determined effort to destroy it to get to the contents. I admire her tenacity. She has some unusual habits she loves to sit on a shoulder and wander round the house like a pirates parrot. She is not shy about getting up there either if you bend over to pick something up you are in danger of being invaded. She will even jump up from floor level. She also burrows under the bedclothes she has come close a couple times to being flattened. She is very friendly and has come from a multicat and multi child home. She does not get on with the resident feline we are at defcon 3 (hissing) but there has been no violence. I think she would really benefit from being a single cat in a household with older children. Lilly was an outdoor cat in her previous home. She does have a flea allergy which has been treated, this is easily prevented by regular good quality flea treatment. In conclusion Lilly is a fabulous feline with a really big personality and a few querks which have made her a very interesting and fun addition to our family.
  • Pip

    ,
Lovely Pip is such a dream to have around. From the day he arrived, he has made himself right at home. His routine involves waking us up for cuddles before breakfast and then eating, following the sunny spots around and sleeping (including sleeping on the bed with/on us). He's not the most athletic of cats, we've tried a few toys to a lackluster response. Once a day he does like a mad game of chase the shoelace (he is totally unimpressed by the laser pointer) and he will go crazy for a bit of catnip. He's incredibly relaxed and never lashes out, he's even been known to stay asleep on the sofa when the hoover is running. Not one for small talk, Pip only really miaows once or twice a day to let us know when he thinks it's mealtime or he wants some attention. We have found that he can be a bit of a guzzle guts so we can't put out too much food for him at any one time. He had some issues with his right eye which were dealt with by the vet before he came to us but it seems to be stable and not causing him any discomfort. Pip is FIV+ which means he is on permanent indoor-only lockdown so he doesn't infect other cats or pick up any illnesses.
  • Polly

    ,
Petite Polly is a pint-sized feline looking for a quiet, stable home. Picked up as a stray, she’s slowly adjusting to home comforts and with a bit of patience (and bribery with treats), she has turned into a trusting, affectionate cat. She’s not a lap cat and isn’t too keen on being handled, but once she is confident she will creep out and give you a several head bump. She’s slowly finding her voice, tending to give off a quiet “brrppp” rather than a meow, but she will give a little meow when it comes to feeding time. She’s a shy little girl, and is definitely a scaredy cat! She’s scared – or indifferent- to most toys, but she likes a little play with the laser pointer. Typical tortie attitude , she will just ignore any toys or plaything if she doesn’t fancy it. She isn’t too sure on the proper way to behave, and will bat your hand or give it a nibble occasionally – this seems to be a sign of affection though. As Polly is shy, she would suit a quiet, adult only home with access to a garden. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue? • Tabitha & Dino

    ,
The odd couple! Dino is about 6 years and Tabitha is about 6 months and they've struck up a firm friendship and love to be together. Tabitha will headbutt Dino for fuss and he purrs his little heart out for her reassuring her that everything is ok. She cannot get enough cuddles from her human company too! Both were living outside but have definitely grown to love home comforts. They are shy initially but it doesn't take long for them to settle and enjoy lots of fuss. They couldn't cope with young children but are ok with other cats and would love a garden away from busy roads. Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus come with 5 weeks free insurance. Tabitha has had an eye infection which may have been flu and it could flare up with the stress of moving but BWCR will cover any costs at one if our vets if it does. • Rosie & Roxy

    ,
Very friendly spayed & chipped 5 year old mother (Rosie – ginger/white) & 9 month old daughter (Roxy – tortie/white) who have been through a lot together recently. Rosie is quiet and loves laps and cuddles while Roxy is very lively and loves to play so Rosie is hoping for someone to help keep Roxy occupied. Would suit all ages of children as they are both very gentle natured. Rosie is a bit greedy so they need to be fed separately but both are quick eaters so this is easily managed. • Maggie

Maggie is a really loving cat who'll wind her way between your legs at feeding time – her favourite times of the day (definitely food-orientated)! She'll also be sure to give you firm nudges to let you know that she wants to be stroked and will chat away to you about her day. She's white with tabby splodges – a gorgeous 11 year-old cat looking for a loving home with a garden (away from a busy road) to roam around in during the day, and a sofa to cuddle up on at night. Unfortunately, she was separated from her mother too early, so despite the fact that she's very loving, she can get carried away and give you lovebites! For this reason she's not suited for a house with young children. Whoever gives her a loving home will learn quickly how to read her body language and will become a deft hand at avoiding her nips – which are purely affectionate! She's spayed, chipped, vaccinated and comes with five weeks free insurance.
