Toby

,
Indood home needed for quirky black gummy bear, Toby 💜
This cheeky little black panther can’t quite decide if he’s a cat or a bird! His cutesy little grumbles, chirps and tweets generally mean he wants attention, food or head rubs.
Toby came into BWCR as a stray. The vet has estimated him to be around 3 years old (given that he’s had most of his teeth taken out, it’s a little difficult to tell his exact age!). He’s tested positive for FIV so needs to be a housecat now and BWCR will pay vet bills for any issues FIV-related.
Toby is a spritely character and high up there on his list of favourite things to do are tail chasing and convincing you to play chase or hide and seek with him (you approach, he’ll run off, but he’ll be sure to turn to make sure you’re following, before he dashes off again!). He’s been known to swipe unexpectedly, but never hurts you - it seems he's still learning how to cat. For this reason he needs an adult-only home.
He'll be losing his foster home on Sept 30th unfortunately so it would be lovely to get him rehomed before them.
Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.

Smokey

"Smokey is about 11 years old, smaller than average, gentle, very affectionate and cuddly but due to family circumstances he needs a new home.
He is wary of strangers and other cats and never shows aggression to us and has never bitten or scratched anybody or the furniture and is the gentlest cat we have had in 50 years of owning a cat.
Smokey will do well in a home of an elderly person like us; small garden away from a busy road and no other cats or dogs."
Smokey is neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance and is still with his owners to save him the stress of a move into foster plus we're full.

Buster & Bear & Milo

The three amigos looking for a home together. Buster, Bear and Milo are best buddies and do everything together - sleeping, eating, playing, trashing toilet rolls, you name it, they do it. Their lovely long-suffering mum would love someone to take them off her paws so she can have some peace and quiet! Buster is the first for cuddles and is the resident spokescat, he's the one always asking for second breakfast. Bear is the shyest with humans but the first through any open door - he's fast! Milo is the lazy lump, always last out of bed. They're wonderful little kitties, mad as a box of frogs and desperate for a home of their own. They'd love a garden away from busy roads and would suit adult-only or older children households. They're about 14 weeks, chipped, vaccinated plus come with 5 weeks free insurance. To help them get a home together BWCR will pay for their neutering at Bristol ARC. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue? • Blanco

"Such a handsome and curious young man whose loving family had to move house and were unable to take him with them. Blanco is a little shy and cautious when first meeting new people, but settled into foster quickly within the first couple of days. Now he thinks he owns the place 🤣 Whilst he is not a lap cat, he is very affectionate and enjoys being around humans and having lots of strokes and fuss. He's not keen on being picked up though so he's probably better suited for a home with slightly older children." He loves to play in the evenings and used to enjoy adventuring outside after breakfast so he'll need a garden away from busy roads and he'll need sunblock on those lily white ear tips. He's about 18 months old and has always been an only puss. Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue? • Bonnie & Badger & Barney

We can't help with your fuel bills but how about three lap-warming furry hot water bottles to help keep you warm this Winter?! Bonnie Badger & Barney 💜💜💜 Bonnie and Badger are believed to be siblings around 10-12 weeks old and Barney (unrelated) 10 weeks old; more beautiful farm kittens who are looking for a loving home where they can spread their fun and silliness. Badger (black and white) Badger is a little sweetie who likes nothing more than a tag team wrestle with the gang but will be the first kitten to seek out your lap and retreat off for a snooze. He has a lovely nature and enjoys a snuggle and affection. It doesn't take much to get this little chap purring. Bonnie (tortie) Bonnie lives up to the saying - nortie tortie! She loves to get involved in whatever mischief is going on but also has a sweet side. She's not always a lap kitten but subtly tells you she would like some affection by lingering for a chin scratch and bum rub, then she is putty in your hands. Barney (brown floofer) Barney is a little ball of cotton wool who was born in his fosterer's home. He is a little quieter than the others and loves a little curl up on your warm lap after a rough and tumble. They need to stay together as they love each over, would be fine with older children and need a garden away from busy roads. Vet checked, chipped, had first vaccination plus come with 5 weeks free insurance. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue? • Bourneville

If you're after a lap cat, Bourneville is your man. He likes nothing more than curling up on his humans on the sofa or in bed, and purring to let you know how much he's enjoying himself. Although he spends a lot of the day and night snoozing, he can also be quite vocal and chatty and likes to roam around the house meowing. He was previously adopted with another cat from the charity, however sadly the two didn't get on so he needs to be the only puss this time round. Bourneville would love a new home where he gets 100% of the attention. He has always been extremely friendly when there have been guests round and isn't at all fussy about who gives him attention! He would also love a garden away from busy roads and enjoys people watching at the window sill. He'd be fine with older children. 3 yrs old, neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue? • Betsy and Poppy

Betsy and Poppy are two gorgeous cats, both around 7 years old, that have always lived together. Betsy is the grey and the more confident of the pair. She settled in to her foster home within a couple of days, inspecting everywhere and finding some nice spots to sleep. She will get up and ask for attention if you enter the room and loves head and tummy scratches. She doesn't play with toys but loves to chase after the laser pointer. She prefers to play with Poppy and they love to race up and down the stairs after each other.
Poppy the tortoiseshell is the more anxious of the two. She spent the first five days of fostering hiding under the bed whenever I entered the room. She eventually decided to come out and join us and now, after a couple of weeks, she is well at home. Poppy is an inquisitive cat and has a lot of energy so she'd like to find someone who will spend some time playing with her and keeping her entertained. Favourite toys are the laser pointer and a crisp packet on a piece of string but she likes balls and also carries socks around.
As a long haired cat Poppy needs brushing but she's not keen on it unfortunately! I'm getting her used to the brush with very short sessions before she gets her evening meal. Her new owner will need to continue this process, or similar, until Poppy can be groomed properly.
They love a fuss but aren't keen on being picked up and they do sometimes get their claws out when they are playing or really enjoying a tummy rub. Betsy is keen to go outside so needs a garden away from busy roads. They need to stay together and would like a quiet home with no children or other pets.
Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus come with 5 weeks free insurance.
• CoCo

Coco is such a sweet, playful boy. He’s not a lap cat but will lie down near you with his belly on show and feet in the air 🐾 He loves for you to play with him with his toys and stays busy by exploring the garden in his spare time. He is always looking for more food so you have to be careful that he doesn’t convince everyone in the house to give him a pouch! He gets along really well with other cats but would be better suited to a house with older kids as he can be startled quite easily, and sometimes pretends he wants a belly rub but then tries to grab your hand instead. He'd love a garden away from busy roads.
2 years old, neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.

• Pixie

,
Pixie is one of the most beautiful cats I have ever met. Loves her food, is very friendly but she also likes her own space and a sunny windowsill. She cannot live with small children and would like to be the only pet in the house. She was pretty nervy when she arrived in foster and cried overnight, she also starved herself for 2 days - cats do enjoy a protest. She has since really come out of her shell. This cat is a true wonder of the world, she is a teenager of monumental proportions. She likes to bin dive and get on the side in the kitchen. She understands the word no but I often have to remove her from said bin and side. She absolutely loves the box I have got with holes in she spends ages getting the balls mice etc out and thoroughly trashes her room whilst playing. She loves a wool ball and charges all over the house and up and down the stairs. She also hunts through the banisters and is an absolute devil on the stairs - I would not recommend her for a less agile staff member. She also hunts toes, my 18 year old son is her plaything and the pair of them seem to be the same mental age! She has a particular fascination with taps and plugs. She loves to watch water coming out of the tap and then into the plughole ( it's magic you know, where does it come from and where does it go?) You'll never be alone in the bathroom, that's for sure 🤣 In conclusion she is a fabulous cat who's personality is really exerting itself now she is truly settled. She is happy , friendly and fun. I do suspect there is a lack of brain cells in that beautiful head but my goodness she is the most fantastic cat. Whoever rehomes Pixie is one very lucky human. I do feel there is even more personality in there, this is such a special cat in many ways. We will miss her but she is ready to go to a special home that will embrace her idiosyncrasies.
About 2 yrs, neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
• Toby & Ludo

Two Handsome Gentle Giants! Toby and Ludo are matching siblings who are extremely close and need to be rehomed together. They are pretty much identical so it can be tricky to know who is who, Toby is slightly larger and the more confident of the two. Ludo is more hesitant but quickly follows Toby's lead. If Ludo feels anxious Toby will gently lick his head to reassure him, so cute! Together they are both bold, lean agile cats. They are not shy and are friendly and confident when meeting new people, they have not met any children but I have not witnessed any traits that would be problematic. They are very active two-year-olds and spend the mornings play fighting together as well as having fun with their toys; favourites are a mechanical mouse mat and plastic tube to run and pounce through. They also love playing chase together. They really are gentle giants weighing in at about 6.5 and 6.25 kilos, they are not overweight just very large, people are amazed when they first meet them. Both cats love heights, they can be found on top of fitted kitchen units and Ludo especially loves to happily pose on the top of doors, (see photo). Word of warning, Toby is strong enough to escape from a cat carrier so extra strapping needs to be wrapped around to stop him pushing open the lid/door. Once he knows he can't escape he settles down nicely and enjoys the journey. They have always been indoor cats and are desperate to go outside to explore and have adventures so a garden away from busy roads is a must. They settled in well with me as soon as they arrived, I will miss them, they really are special boys! Neutered, chipped, had first vaccination plus come with 5 weeks free insurance. • Lua & Winnie

These fluffy cuties are Lua and Winnie, 9 year old sisters. Winnie (tortie) is the more confident sister and does like a fuss but she will tell you when she has had enough by giving you a bat with a paw, she doesn’t scratch though. She loves treats and is very playful, Yeoww catnip toys and the feather on a stick are her favourites. Lua (tabby) is a sweet girl, she can be a little shy but loves fuss more than her sister does and loves treats just as much! She can get a bit carried away and nibble you, all the while purring and nuzzling for more attention. She is just starting to show an interest in the toys and has begun having mad 5 minutes, running around the house and chasing her sister. Both girls will get up on the bed but only either when you are in it or you have stripped it! Lua has flea allergy dermatitis so she needs a monthly vet-prescribed flea treatment. The girls would like a home with a garden away from busy roads and, as they aren’t used to young children, a quieter home would be best. Whilst they don’t appear to snuggle up together or groom each other, they are never usually far from each other so do need to stay as a pair. Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus come with 5 weeks free insurance. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue? • Oscar

Oscar was adopted from us in May but his new owner very sadly and unexpectedly died 😢 Anyone looking for a quieter, older gentleman who just loves a fuss? 💜 Oscar was very loved and developed a taste for the finer things in life - human food like chicken, ham and other choice nibbles. Sadly his owner has died and he now finds himself in foster on cat food- such a hard life! He's a really sweet, gentle boy who will give you lots of cuddles, purrs and love and is very people-orientated. He's a young 15 years and would love another home with a special person to dote on him again. He's not lived with children but he's pretty chilled so older ones would be fine and he'd like to be the only cat..of course! A garden away from busy roads completes his wishlist. Neutered, chipped, vaccinated, had a dental plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue? • Spot and Patch

They're arriving thick and fast!
Spot and Patch - two more adorable farm kittens 💜💜
Beautiful bonded pair of gorgeous black kittens (believed to be siblings), approx 10-12 weeks old. They were both very timid when they came into foster but have responded really well – no more hissing! They love to play and run around jumping on each other until they are exhausted.
The boy ( Spot as he has a white spot under his chin) is the bold one. He is the first to greet me when I approach them, and he purrs loudly when he is fussed. Spot is likely to become a lap cat given the opportunity.
The girl (Patch as she has a white patch on her chest) is shyer – until she forgets herself and starts to play with her toys! Patch will take treats from my hand but is still work-in-progress in terms of building her confidence with social contact. Hence the new family will need to be patient with her until she finds her feet.
They're fine with other cats but couldn't cope with young children and need a garden away from busy roads.
Vet checked, had first vaccinations plus come with 5 weeks free insurance.
• Poppy

Poppy is a beautiful long-haired, all-black cat with striking green eyes.
Poppy needs to live with patient people who can give her space and let her get comfortable at her own pace. She would suit living in a quiet, relaxed, child- and pet-free house with access to the outdoors, away from busy roads, and a steady routine.
She spends a lot of time upstairs, either under the bed or sitting at the top of the stairs – sometimes she’ll come halfway down and peek through the bannisters to see what we’re up to. She has this fun little quirk of sitting with her back legs on one stair and standing with her front legs on the one below!
Poppy also spends a lot of time looking out of the window and really really wants to get outside, which she hasn’t been able to do while she’s been fostered – perhaps when she lives with people that can gently introduce her to a safe garden she’ll generally feel more relaxed.
Poppy is a sociable cat, in short bursts and when she feels like it! She likes to be fussed over for a few minutes at a time, until she’s had enough. Every morning after her breakfast she jumps up onto the bed for five minutes of strokes and chats. During the day she’ll pop in to see you every few hours. In the evenings she’ll come down to use the litter tray, have a bite to eat and say hello, before taking herself off to where she feels safest, and every night around 10.30 she pops into the living room for a chat, some Dreamies and a play before bed. Then she flumps down in the doorway, in the room with us, but not close another to touch.
She gets a bit spooked by legs & feet, and loud noises, so she prefers it if you approach her gently and at her level. As she gets comfortable you’ll find she gets more chatty and purry. She is getting more playful as she relaxes and enjoys a bit of play hunting.
6 yrs old, neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
• Pudsey

Pudsey the bearcat 💜 We were called by a vets in Newport to help with this stray boy, hit by a car. His ear is fine but no-one knows why it looks like that! Meet the very dapper Pudsey! We think he is 4-5 years old and he came into our care after an RTA which led to the amputation of his right back leg. He has recovered well and is doing brilliantly on the remaining 3 legs – 3 weeks after his amputation he was managing the stairs just fine. He loves to play with a cat nip toy and loves his treats – although as far as he is concerned he never gets as many as he would like. Mean Foster Mummy has tried to tell him he needs to maintain a stable weight so he will be ok on 3 legs but Pudsey doesn’t agree. He can be a bit grumpy, this might improve when he can go outside and feel like he has some independence and he will need a safe garden that is suitable for his needs. He does like a bit of a chat and a fuss although he isn’t crazy about his folded over ear being touched. Whilst not a lap cat he will be happy snoozing on the sofa next to you of an evening – how close he sits depends on whether you give him a bit of your dinner or not! An adult-only home with no other pets would suit him just fine. Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance. *** If you're interested please mail us at [email protected] *** Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue? • Meg & Max

Mum Meg and son Max 💜💜 This pretty pair are more lucky cats rescued from a life on the streets. They are shy but loving, very gentle natured and enjoy a fuss but like to approach you first. They are not overly happy being picked up so will need a patient household to help them progress and so are not suitable for very young children. Max loves his Mum and they are very close with Meg regularly still washing him though she puts him in his place from time to time too - once a mum, always a mum! They would do well settled in one room to begin with and with puppy pads/newspaper around the litter tray - Max had an upset tummy when he first arrived (all sorted now) and he associates the litter tray with discomfort. His once daily poop tends to be just outside the tray now and obviously won't be an issue once they start going outside. They'd love a garden away from busy roads and they're good with other cats. Meg is 3 yrs, Max is 2yrs and they're both neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus come with 5 weeks free insurance. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue?
