    Charlie and Chester

Charlie (12) and Chester (5) need a home together as the love each other 💜 "Charlie (grey) has a good appetite since his dental and is loving the sun lately.  I will be very very sorry to see him go - he makes a good job of communicating with me...talkative and pulls my sleeve with his teeth if I dont feed him on time or give him attention when I'm busy. He gives us (and Chester) funny disapproving looks if we sit in his chair or disturb his self-cleaning routine....Charlie is so proud of his fluffy coat and he works hard to maintain it!  He loves to be brushed and petted and will turn over for a belly rub.  When he's in the mood for cuddles, he is the best cat ever for hugs!  He loves humans but he takes time to relax around people he doesnt know.  He jumps on your lap and will happily sleep on you or the bed and is usually not far away from us, WFH suits him (he doesnt wander far away from me). Unfortunately Charlie was found to be in early renal failure when he had his dental so must be kept on a re al diet to protect his kidneys and prolong his life. He still sometimes uses the indoor litter tray as he's a bit fussy about our catflap and the weather. We usually have to let him out of the door when he asks but he finds his own way back via the catflap! Charlie has character, he's affectionate, sleeps alot but he's not past playing with a bit of string and chasing Chester. Chester is a real sweetie and he loves to snuggle up high on your chest and will put his front paws around your neck.  He is very healthy and a bundle of fun.  He also has a wonderful gentle temperament and lately has started to lick and nibble your hands, sometimes nibbles your face too.  He is more adventurous with trying new foods but is crazy about Dreamies and treats (luckily Charlie isn't bothered about treats) He's playful and affectionate and will sleep on your lap too but during the day he will find a hideaway to sleep ie under a table in a corner.   He loves to go outside, even when it rains and brings all the mud back too. Chester has a very fine bushy tail like a lemur and his coat is silky but also so scruffy!  We try to brush Chester but he doesnt really like it and so he gets bribed with Dreamies. Both Charlie and Chester have no experience of children and, because of lockdown, not many visitors.  Their owner said they wouldnt be suitable for child households.  Charlie just needs quiet and a cuddly lap but Chester would love a garden away from busy roads for adventures." Both neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus come with 5 weeks free insurance. BWCR will cover the cost of Charlie's renal check ups and blood tests at one of our vets.

    Rhubarb and Crumble

    ,
We have a beautiful brother and sister looking for a home together 💜
These kittens are approximately 4 months old and were living outside. They'd not had much human interaction unfortunately and are still learning how to 'cat' properly in a home! They are not suitable to live with young children.
"Rhubarb and Crumble are 4 month olds siblings, looking for a home together. Both are very sweet and affectionate but are a bit worried when it comes to being approached fast and with loud noises.
Rhubarb is more laid back than Crumble and enjoys watching life from a distance where as Crumble likes to get more involved and can be quite naughty, he is still in the process of learning that hands aren’t for chewing!
Both are very affectionate once they know you and you’ll often find them purring around your feet. They would be best to live with teenagers and adults only."
They'll need time to settle in a quieter home and would love a garden away from busy roads for adventures. A nice friendly existing puss may help them learn the ropes but isn't a necessity.
Vet checked and started their vaccinations plus come with 5 weeks free insurance.

    Bear

    ,
Bashful Bear 💜 Bear is a very sweet, very talkative but shy guy. He absolutely loves a fuss - so much so that he'll grab your hand if you stop too soon and he can scratch you accidentally. You all might benefit from clipping his claws regularly! He's not at all nasty just over eager. He couldn't cope with the children in his previous home so needs a nice quiet life now with slaves who are happy to stroke and fuss him for hours and tell him how handsome he is. He's only 1year so full of energy and needs a garden away from busy roads and no other pets. Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.

    Wendell and Tommy

    ,
Two more boys failed miserably by their humans - we don't know if it's even worth reminding people anymore that male cats need neutering to help prevent wandering, fighting and infectious diseases. It's totally demoralising to have to keep picking up the pieces from uncaring owners. Sick, injured cats suffering and costing us a fortune at the vets when it could have been so easily prevented. We doubt these type of owners would ever even follow a cat page to see the message and we're just preaching to the choir every time. Rant over - we now have 8 FIV pos and 2 FeLV pos cats - all un-neutered toms who deserved better. To the responsible, caring owners who do want to get their cats neutered and may be struggling - please contact a rescue, there are many options available to fund all or part of the cost :) So two more boys who are now FIV positive and needing indoor homes - they can go together or separately. Wendell: 9ish years old, FIV positive. Has had the toughest time on the mean streets of Yate, was found limping and eating out of recycling bins. He needed a dental and has very few teeth now and just needs a nice place to live indoors, a secure outdoor enclosure to enjoy life would be lovely but not compulsory! He is quite scared at the moment but knows humans/human contact and is accepting a small amout of brushing and is very chatty with me which is giving me hope he’s going to come around and become a gummy little snuggler. Update : Wendell is already out of hiding and deigning to accept affection and breakfast in bed :) Tommy: estimated at about 7/8 years old, FIV positive. The streets have been kinder to Tommy, he’s not found to have any other health issues. He would also need to be indoor and again would probably love a catio or a cat secure space to chill outside though he will transition to being an indoor cat without one. He is beloved at his foster home at the moment and is described as ‘chilled’ and ‘lush’. He’s fed every morning by their young children, isn’t phased by the presence of their cat and accepting grooming, scritches and being picked up. He’s ready for love! Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus come 5 weeks free insurance- BWCR will cover any FIV-related costs at one of our vets.
  • Elsie

    ,
Elsie is a lovely eight year old tortoise shell cat. She is very affectionate and loves to be around people. She does however get a little bitey and heavy handed when playing but it’s always well meaning. It does mean she’s not suited to being around toddlers.
Elsie settled in straight away when she arrived and made herself very at home right from day one. She loves chasing lasers, head scratches, and naps in the same room as people.
Elsie is well litter trained and not a very fussy eater but she does enjoy dinner time and if it’s late Elsie gets quite vocal!
She'd love a garden away from busy roads and a home with no other pets.
Neutered,  chipped,  vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • Griff

Griff the gruffalo is looking for an experienced indoor home as he's tested positive for FIV 💜 He was a stray over in Wales for many months and came in with a nasty cat bite abscess on his paw. He's all healed now and also had his crown jewels removed so he's smelling a lot more fragrant 🤣 He's used to being out and about doing his thing so needs to learn a whole new way of life now. He's adapting well and is a champion headbumper and loves being brushed and stroked. He is still, understandably, a bit reactive eg if you sneeze unexpectedly near him he will hiss briefly but he's getting more relaxed every day. He now comes to greet you and he loves his food so that always helps! He needs to be an only cat, as he doesn't much like others, in a quiet adult-only home with people who understand that he's still learning the ropes. He was obviously a pet at some time  so it shouldn't take him long. It would be lovely if he could have a catio or similar for some fresh air and sunbathing (he's pretty lazy) but we know that's a big ask. Guesstimated at about 5 hrs old, neutered, chipped, had first vaccination plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • Birthday

    ,
Birthday is like his name, incredibly happy and full of love 💜
This affectionate young man demands kisses and head scratches in abundance.
The first night in foster he cried and faced the wall. 24 hours later he was sitting on laps, purring and kissing noses.
He will happily and gently play with young children (I tested this out with a  five year old) and doesn't mind being regularly introduced to new people.
He'd love a family who can give him lots of attention, fuss and playtime!
He is one of the sweetest, funniest, most affectionate little kitties I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.
He is also litter trained, a neat eater, and a bit of an explorer.
If you have a lot of love and time and don't mind loud purring, the occasional chirp, or a marmite theiving racoon, Birthday may be your perfect match.
Birthday needs to be the only pet and has never been outside but would like to, so needs a garden away from any busy roads as he has no road sense but tons of exuberance!
1 yr old, neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
  • Mowgli

    ,
How has our handsome hunk not been chosen yet?! 💜 Mowgli is a very handsome, chatty and affectionate gentleman who has settled in really well with his foster carer. He was found as an entire male stray and has been estimated to be around 5 years old. He is in great health in general and seems to have suffered no ill effects from his time living rough. Not one for charging about, most days are spent relaxing on various soft surfaces occasionally popping into the room you're working in to shout at you until he gets his head scratched. You will also never have to worry about using the bathroom or showering alone as he is fascinated by running water. In the evenings he loves to get in close to you on the sofa (but rarely on your lap) with extra points for having a soft blanket to call his own. He's a large boy at 5.5KG and enjoys his food so it's worth keeping an eye on this. He has suffered from stress cystitis which is now being managed with a special diet (Royal Canin Urinary) and medication for a flare up. It's now been weeks since his last attack and he seems much more relaxed now. He needs to be an only pet in an adult-only home with access to a garden away from busy roads. As the cystitis is not covered by insurance BWCR will cover costs at one of our vets if he should need treatment- hopefully he'll be absolutely fine now though. Neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue? • Merlin & Misty

Handsome 6 yr old brothers sporting post- lockdown hairdos 💜 These gentle, loving boys were being bullied by other cats in their previous home and were very stressed. Now it's just the two of them in foster they're very chilled and loving a fuss almost as much as they love their food. They will need time to settle in and a quieter home with no children or other pets but, once they do they're very affectionate and will head bump for attention. Merlin (black) can push Misty (grey) off the food a bit and be the first for cuddles so you just need to make sure Misty doesn't miss out as he's such a gentle soul. They love to be outside so need a garden away from busy roads and will need grooming - they were shaved before they arrived with us as they were both so matted. Merlin doesn't have many teeth and may need a dental at some point in the future, which we will fund at one of our vets. Neutered, chipped, had first vaccinations plus come with 5 weeks free insurance. Are you ready to adopt a cat from Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue? • Theo

Theo is an extremely friendly, loving cat who likes to be part of the family. He sits on our laps and gives us shoulder cuddles, no one is excluded. He is fine being left on his own and can’t wait to be able to explore the outside so needs a garden away from busy roads. He is an intelligent, inquisitive cat and loves attention, he would suit an adult household as he can be a bit scratchy when excited so not suitable for a house with young children. He was originally a stray who we rehomed two years ago but, unfortunately, the resident cat got spooked by a stray in the garden and then started attacking Theo. Understandably he got very stressed by this and subsequently developed cystitis - it got so bad that he was totally blocked at one point and needed a life-saving emergency operation. Now he's in foster on his own he's so much happier and has had no recurrence of stress cystitis. It is something that needs to kept an eye on and BWCR will fund any treatment needed at one of our vets. He's also just had a dental and came through that with no issues either :) About 8 yrs old, neutered, chipped, vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance. • Biff

    ,
Meet Biff - fostermum is a bit smitten 💜
Biff is simply the best boy. Around 4 years old, he's intelligent and talkative and he'll happily chat away on a whole range of subjects! He's very affectionate and full of personality and will constantly have his eye on you just in case you might need to give him some strokes. He loves to drape himself on or around you but is usually good at respecting boundaries. He can get a little mouthy when being playful and he has fast sharp claws -he's not at all aggressive but best with no young children.
He's very fond of being around people so would probably not like to be left alone for long periods. He's quickly become a loved part of the household and we would have adopted him if we had a garden but we think it's really important that he has some outdoor space away from busybroads.. A very special boy deserving of an equally loving forever home - we don't know what he's like with other cats unfortunately so best as an only puss.
Neutered,  chipped,  vaccinated plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance.
