Baxter, our Maine Coon boy is finally ready for his new home ❤️
This is the face that greets me every morning as he wants out of the kitchen so badly and I don’t blame him, he’s been in there for months now!
He was bred by a back street breeder in Walsall and rehomed to Bristol with multiple health issues – his new owners couldn’t cope so presumably dumped him outside as he was found wandering. The breeder refused to take him back or give any info on his buyers so he came to us.
He’s an absolutely wonderful boy, superfriendly, talkative, clumsy with the typical frowny MC face but don’t be misled, he’s a happy little chap, just bored!
He came with flu and horrendous diarrhoea, filthy dirty, matted, his ears were black, his paws yellow (still are a bit as needs to wear off).
He tested positive for coronavirus and tritrichomonas. He’s had multiple faecal tests, colonic irrigation, two rounds of antibiotics specifically for trich, tried every food under the sun and still the terrible diarrhoea persisted.
Our own persistence has paid off though with the addition of Protexin fibre capsules and he’s finally consistently formed- oh the joys of studying a litter tray every day 🤣🤣
He gets a bit sneezy every so often but doesn’t require vet treatment, has the scrawniest tail ever for an MC and is very much the innocent victim of someone’s greed.
He deserves a lovely home now, indoor or catio, as his diet needs to be regulated and just all the love in the world. He takes a terrible photo as he just wants a fuss constantly!
We’d want him to stay in the Fernlea vet catchment area as they know him very well (!) and BWCR will fund any treatment needed for his pre-existing issues.
He’s around 18 months old, neutered, chipped, had first vaccination plus 5 weeks free insurance.
