Boris

Boris (we thought he was a Russian Blue!) had been hanging around for about 3 months before we could build up his confidence with humans. He would sneak into our house to eat and sleep. After our old ginger Tom of 23 years passed away we began seeing more and more of Boris and tried to find his owner. We put up posters of him for around a mile to see if anyone recognised him, put his photos on local websites and got him chip checked. No one claimed him. As an unneutered tom cat, we worked with a cat rescue to get him neutered and chipped and, as our own two female cats didn’t mind him being here, we said we’d keep him. We’ve had him 18 months now and everything was good for a while – he even started coming downstairs and met our large mastiff dog who is an old lady of over 11 years.

Boris became very attached to myself and wherever I went he was with me: the bathroom, the garden etc. When I went out he waited in the window overlooking the front of our house or in the stairs which are by the front door. When I came home he was so happy to be with me again. He started trying to get between me and our dog. Hissing at the dog every time the dog came near me – he was so jealous and just wanted me for himself.
Then twice he has actually attacked our dog when she’s been just asleep or just sat on her bed .

Boris is very good with children, we have grandsons 11 /9 /6 and he loves the attention from them. He uses litter trays but likes them clean. He eats most cat foods, dry and wet. When you talk to him he answers you with a tribble sound – he likes a natter.
He’s an amazing cat but we have to think of our old dog and sadly have to rehome him.”

The vet has guesstimated him about 3 yrs and he’ll need a garden away from busy roads. Best as an only puss to prevent any further issues, fine with children.
Neutered, chipped plus comes with 5 weeks free insurance, Boris is still with his owner as we have no space.
